But your salvation can be very effective if you repent your ways since repentance will enable your sins to be blotted out. Assuredly, the records of the sins will be completely erased, the traces won’t be seen anymore. This guaranteed perfect salvation and uninterrupted access to paradise when you die.
Text: Ac 3:19
Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord.
A short Preface
The Bible says; in Joel 2:13 And rend your heart, and not your garments, and turn unto the LORD your God: for he is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness… Are you swimming in the pool of sins? Do you find yourself adventuring into damnation? Do you choose to spend your wonderful life with the devil? The almighty God asks me to tell you that this is the high time to repent your ways and turn to God. The more you keep going in the wrong direction, the more you get lost, But the moment you return, things change for the better.
Repentance is once, refreshing is always!
The blessing which is attached to repentance is great! The Bible states that when you repent once, refreshing times will come to you always. This means that genuine repentance is done once, and then refreshing comes to you continuously. This is why the Bible pluralized the refreshing times – “… times of refreshing…Acts 3:19”.
Repentance time is once while refreshing times are continuous, and above all, the refreshing is from God. What a great blessing! Now, since once repentance brings continuous refreshing, then, there is no need to continue in your wrong ways anymore.
The Blotted-out Sins and the Forgiven Sins.
There is a clear difference between the blotted-out sins and the forgiven sins When your sins are forgiven, this means the sufferings attached to them will be removed, but the records of the sins are still very much available. Take note that many people whom Jesus healed first received forgiveness of sins so that the sickness that was the consequence of the sins could be removed. However, their sins were only forgiven, but not blotted out because provisions for blotting-out sins were yet to be provided – Jesus was yet to die. But since the blood of Jesus is now available, do not conclude that you are free totally from your sins if not blotted out. (Acts 3:19). Hence you may not have assurance of salvation.
