The outgoing National President, Pastor Dr. Sampson E. Igwe, officially announced the election results quoting returns from the election of National Officers by the National Council members who were mainly apostles from across the Six Territories of the nation.

Oladele Emerges As TACN National President

The Apostolic Church Nigeria (TACN) has elected new national officers, with Pastor Dr. Lawrence Olusesan Oladele from LAWNA Territory emerging as the new President of the National Council.

The election, conducted at the Church’s National Headquarters in Lagos on Thursday, February 6, 2025, saw Pastor Oladele elected as President, taking the lead from his closest contender, Pastor Jude O. D. Ekele.

The outgoing National President, Pastor Dr. Sampson E. Igwe, officially announced the election results quoting returns from the election of National Officers by the National Council members who were mainly apostles from across the Six Territories of the nation.

According to the Chief Returning Officer, LAWNA Territorial Vice-Chairman Pastor David O. Ajibade, Pastor E. U. Johnson from Akwa Ibom State Territory was elected as Vice-President, surpassing Pastor Prof. N. E. George.

For the position of National Secretary, Pastor Prof. Benjamin B. Fakae from Maritime Territory defeated Pastor I. B. Zorzor.

Pastor Dr. Isaac G. Awotanmi from LAWNA Territory was elected as the Deputy National Secretaryahead of Pastor Dr. Titus O. Akinbami

In the case of National Finance Secretary, Pastor O. A. Nyong from Cross River State Territory emerged ahead of Pastor W. U. Ikpi.

Pastor S. A. Ogu from LAWNA Territory was nominated as the National Deputy Finance Secretary.

Their election at the special session of the emergency National Council meeting is in line with the provisions of the Constitution of TACN.

They are to be formally inducted at a later date to be announced by the church authority.

LAWNAPR can report that the new officers are to serve in their capacity for four years, and can be reelected for a second term as provided in the Church’s constitution. But this shall exclude any one that is above 75 years provided as retirement age for the Ministers in the church.

The outgoing President Pastor S. E. Igwe from Igboland Territory assumed office in 2017.
